标  题: What're Alternator and Startor?

I'm a new driver. Two days ago, my car, actually, a chevy tracker, didn't work-the engine couln't be started but all the lights still work.My American friend told me the probable reason was the battery. He suspected the battery was dying, which was alreay more than 7 years old. After charging the battery, the engine can work for just one day. So I decided to change the battery. But, unfortunately, after the change, it seemed to me there are still some problems, the guys in the Carparts store told me it may be the alternator or starter, however, they were not sure what the real problem are. So I have to check it in a Auto Workshop.
Could you give me some idea about that kind of problem. How can I deal with it?
