情节：有前科，驾驶皮卡 吸毒（huffing from an aerosol canister）后撞向逆向人行道上的行人（童子军队伍），致4死1伤（其中3死1伤为女童），之后立即逃逸。据说回家停好车之后还去了一个party。

不知这个州有没有死刑，即使没有，57年也少了点儿吧？

Authorities said Treu was huffing from an aerosol canister before he crashed his pickup truck into the Girl Scouts as they picked up trash along a highway in western Wisconsin. He then drove away.

What’s not in the story is iirc he was out on bail after a different impaired driving accident in another county. And when he caused the accident he was just sentenced for, the Girl Scouts and their leader were on the opposite side of the two lane road this happened on, so he drove across the road into the ditch to hit them. Then he drove to his house and promptly left to go to a party. Fortunately his truck sustained enough damage in the accident the cops followed the trail of leaking fluids to his house leading to his quick arrest. Oh and I think he could have received well over 100 (possibly 150?) years if max sentence was given, so 54 years is a relatively light sentence. Here’s hoping for no early release.
