I have two questions on the copyright and license issue of SMTH BBS codes.

1, Can I use the SMTH BBS codebase to run a commercial site ? (For example, I plan to put some advertises on my site.) I think I can do it, but just want to confirm.

2. If I make some changes to SMTH BBS code for my site, do I need to make my change available to general public (because SMTH code is rooted from GNU) ?

My feeling to this question is that, changes in BBS telnet code is under GNU license agreement. But if I make changes to webpages, (for example: PHP files) I do not need to make my changes available to public. (However, since they are PHP files, other people can essentially access to them anyway).
