We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our translational research team. Over the last decade, we have made significant progress in the treatment of anaplastic thyroid cancer, the most lethal form of human cancer with an average survival of 6 months. MD Anderson has become an international referral center for this disease: we see more patients and offer more clinical trials for anaplastic thyroid cancer than anywhere else in the world. Dr. Jennifer R. Wang, MD, PhD, is a surgeon scientist who leads a laboratory focused on anaplastic thyroid cancer genomics. Her lab utilizes human samples collected from clinical trials and prospective cohort studies to understand anaplastic thyroid cancer evolution, therapeutic response, and treatment resistance.

We are seeking an individual with a strong foundation in molecular biology/genetics as well as hands-on experience in computational biology including next generation sequencing data analysis (WES/WGS/RNAseq) and/or single-cell sequencing analysis. Bioinformatic programming languages and skills (R, Perl, Python, etc.) and knowledge on commonly used bioinformatic, statistical, and data visualization tools is required.
