Job Description
Come up with innovative solutions to problems while working with some of the brightest engineers in open source. The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for Quality Engineer to join us in Beijing, China. In this role, you will focus on testing Red Hat Virtualization and oVirt upstream offerings. You'll create test plans, research new features, carry out test cases, design new automated and manual tests, develop frameworks to make test development and automation easier to speed up implementation, and participate in product meetings with a QE perspective. As Quality Engineer, you will also perform acceptance, function, regression, integration, and longevity testing on our offerings, supervising successful testing in a timely manner. You'll need to have passion for testing, coding, and examining how things work internally.
Primary job responsibilities
Develop automation framework and scripts with Python for automation testing and implementation
Participate in the test and product planning processes
Conduct new feature research and design test cases on your own
Carry out manual tests and deliver clear status for testing areas in a timely manner
Document and advocate the resolution of new bugs with developers and communicate the impact on customers to developers and support
Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies
Communicate with other globally distributed quality engineers and developers working on Red Hat Virtualization offerings
Participate in product meetings with a QE perspective
Work in a fast-paced environment
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of professional experience or a master's degree with 1+ year(s) of professional experience
Ability to work as part of a team and use available resources to create innovative solutions
Familiarity with a wide variety of operating system components, especially kernel, KVM, and oVirt
Expertise designing, developing, and maintaining test environments and automated test suites
Motivated with the ability to work under the pressure of deadlines
Experience with software testing; development experience is a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Professional experience with virtualization is a plus
