Job Summary
The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for an Associate Manager to join us in Beijing, China. In this role, you will manage the QE team and lead the effort of delivery of product with support from your management team. You’ll grow, organize, and manage a Testing Engineering team. You’ll also participate in creating team structure, team performance reviews, and coaching and mentoring team members. You’ll suggest improvements to Red Hat’s internal processes and develop new and innovative solutions to technical issues on a daily basis. While this is not a practical testing role, we are looking for a manager who can serve as a key decision-maker in technical matters. As an Associate Manager, you will need to be able to understand and assess the test coverage for automated tests. While developing an approach specific to your solutions, you will align it with the strategic initiatives defined by the Global QE team. You'll have the chance to work with some of the brightest leaders and engineers in the open source industry while serving as an internal advocate for our customers. You’ll have the opportunity to work with innovative technologies that are a critical focus area for the organization.

Primary Job Responsibilities
- Work with the complete Kernel solutions portfolio and be responsible for the delivery of Kernel Z-stream package
- Make sure your team delivers reproducible and data-driven quality service for the Kernel Z-stream package
- Prepare development plans with individual contributors; help them seek guidance and mentors
- Develop deep understanding of multiple solutions lines and complex subsystems within each offering
- Implement ongoing quality improvement processes working with cross-functional teams
- Maintain consistency of our offerings throughout the product cycle, including the design, definition, and build phases through quality checkpoints and testing
- Work cross-functionally within other teams and stakeholders and foster a collaborative environment
- Manage and grow a motivated, engaged, and effective team; play an active role in hiring activities for on-site and remote teams
- Oversee planning of team's yearly staffing, financial plan, and expenses priorities

Required Skills
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field, or relevant professional experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Some experience with managing and project leading of a team of engineers; leadership and mentoring skills
- International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) Foundation or QAI Certified Software Tester (CSTE) certification
- 5+ years of related professional experience; 4+ years of quality engineering or testing experience is a plus
- 2+ years of engineering leadership experience
- Solid working knowledge of quality engineering concepts and methodology
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system
- Solid interpersonal skills; ability to develop and motivate team members
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; learn and apply new skills and processes quickly
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and work under strict deadlines
- Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) components or solutions like Kernel, Virtualization, OpenStack, or OpenShift is a plus
