We are the Modern Application Platform Business Unit at VMware and we focus on solutions for developers to leverage VMware’s infrastructure platform. We are building a strong team of developers who know how to engage and collaborate in open source projects as well as deliver enterprise products. We are focusing on building performant, robust and high-scalability features for several products including vSphere integrated Containers, Pivotal Container Service, Tanzu Kubernetes Grid and also CNCF project Harbor. This is growing team and we are looking for experienced engineers to join us in envisioning and building products and solutions focusing on the container ecosystem including Docker and Kubernetes. Together we will move the needle and change VMware's role in this space.

We are looking for a seasoned engineer who can develop a simple-to-use user interface. The team uses following UI technologies: Go, Python, JavaScript/HTML/CSS, XML, JSON. However, we don’t hire for loyalty to a technology stack. Rather, you’re expected to learn and to apply creativity and solid Computer Science fundamentals to solve real problems and ship delightful software.

You will:
o Design and implement features and frameworks in an agile manner for the innovative product

o Contribute to end-to-end system architecture, working with back-end engineers
o Collaborate with UE teams, product managers and other technical teams to create optimized and delightful user experiences
Required (*):
o Experience with Go and Python
o Expert in web client technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS
o Experience with modern web libraries such as Angular
o Good grasp on usability and interaction design
Strongly Desired:
o Demonstrated visual design and layout skills
o Some end-to-end system design experience
o Knowledge/experience on Linux, virtualization technologies, cloud native applications (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

The following standard list of formal requirements for software engineering job does apply:
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Masters preferred
o 5-7 years of hands-on development experience on UI
o Written, verbal and presentation communication skills
o Interpersonal skills
o Proven ability to deliver on schedule
