Senior Linux Service Engineer
Location: Beijing, China
Key Responsibilities
o Be able to articulate the key values of SUSE products, solution and strategy
o Form strong business relationships with the customers at various levels of the organization
o Troubleshoot and provide accurate and timely resolution to customer issues. Serve as customer advocate within the group by facilitating escalation of issues through appropriate internal organizations
o Pro-actively identify issues by becoming familiar with customer's technical and business environment while providing recommendations for resolution to these issues
o Prevent customer issues by reviewing their environment regularly, report and correct issues per customer requirements
o Share knowledge by writing technical documents and pro-actively sending helpful technical information to customer (upcoming patches, technical news, etc)
o Document and communicate work performed in provided systems and document as requested
o Assist in the implementation of SUSE Solutions in line with specific Consulting engagements
o Interact with the existing Support team as required to meet the customer needs and always in a friendly and professional manner.
o Good communication skills in both Chinese and English, written and spoken.
o A willingness and ability for frequent travel to work at customer locations where required
Qualifications and Skills
o Proven technical skills in delivering Linux solutions in one or more of the following:
SUSE Linux Kernel
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server
SUSE Manager
SUSE Enterprise Storage
SUSE Docker
o Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
o Excellent interpersonal skills
o Proven ability to work independently and take initiative
o Position requires flexibility and capacity to work across a variety of activities within a matrix and virtual organizational framework.
o Ability to appropriately handle tense/stressful customer situations regarding service outages and issue resolution.
o Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Extensive experience in high-tech or software company
o Advanced computer skills in MS Office plus corporate applications
o Bachelor’s Degree and/or Applicable Experience
o May at times be required to work outside of standard business hours
