PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The SAP HANA Database is the basis for new, ground-breaking SAP applications and is widely agreed to be a highly valuable asset in the SAP software portfolio. In-memory computing is made possible through recent technology advances in main memory, multi-core processing, and data management. The SAP HANA Database team develops an engine that performs parallel in-memory processing of huge data sets to offer extremely fast real-time responses for analytic queries.
An essential part of this team is the Quality Assurance team, which is responsible for the SAP HANA DB Development Support and the quality of the SAP HANA DB. As quality specialist in SAP Hana database development you will support customers and stakeholders in close collaboration with our core database developers.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/ SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Good analytical skills
Good knowledge of database architectures; LINUX skills and experience
Familiar with debugging and analyzing complex problems

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a Quality Specialist you will be working in the development support team of SAP HANA Platform together with a group of exceptionally talented and motivated colleagues.
Your tasks will also include:
Debug complex database engine and Hana platform problems of customers and SAP internal stakeholders
Close cooperation with development: Align customer requirements with SAP Hana development
Provide reproducible scenarios of customer issues to developers
Analyze performance and scalability of the SAP HANA database
Communicate issues with front-office support or customer
Provide feedback to and work hand-in-hand with development to continuously improve supportability features and the documentation
2. System Engineer - SAP HANA Infrastructure
PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Technology & Innovation (T&I) is responsible for SAP’s overall platform and technology development such as SAP Cloud Platform and SAP HANA. In addition, T&I drives the incubation and adoption of intelligent technologies like Analytics, SAP Leonardo Machine Learning and IoT across SAP’s product portfolio. The T&I board area is also in charge of SAP’s global innovation agenda and builds new business model- and market driven innovations to help customers realize the most business value.
Our HANA Infrastructure Team oversees construction and operation of a stable productive environment for our fully automated development process. Backed by a datacenter full of high-end servers the team facilitates more than simply Continuous Integration. The team does state-of-the-art C++ development based on Open Source components like Linux, Git, Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes, CMake and Python that have proven to be a solid base for large scale development environments.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a System Engineer in the HANA infrastructure team you will be working with a group of exceptionally talented and motivated people. You will join the team in configuring, operating, and developing the systems used for the HANA build- & test infrastructure. You will manage and operate the 2000+ large memory servers in our landscape. In addition, you will drive automation by contributing to our observability and server management tool stack.
In your daily work you can expect to:
Provision servers with consistently configured Linux operating systems
Monitor system health and resolve system issues
Contribute to the development of our system management software stack
Participate in handling infrastructure incidents

Required skills

3. HANA Core Senior Developer for SQL Query Processing
We are currently seeking a highly talented and motivated development engineer to work on our SAP Database Products and Technology. As a successful candidate for this role, you will have excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, fluency in coding and systems design, solid communication skills and a desire to solve complex problems of scale which are uniquely SAP. You will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise to a wide range of Database Management System products that deal with query parser, compilation and execution. You will use your skills and your initiative to improve the functionality and performance of these components. You will develop and enhance core components of these components. In addition to current technology, you will work on new exciting technologies in the field of in-memory and distributed computing to assure SAP’s continuous leadership in the marketplace.
The Role:
Responsible for designing and building product integrated database with high performance and high reliability
Responsible for coding, reviewing, troubleshooting, problem solving and testing of related component of database engine focus on sql/query processing area
Responsible for quality and quality improvements
Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales and cost
Responsible for troubleshooting customer issues, performance tuning, root cause assessing and solution
Prioritize tasks, develops detailed design, and estimate effort required to completion of projects
Follow the software development cycle from inception and requirement to successful release of product

We're looking for experienced System Engineering developers to work together in solving technical challenges on our large-scale infrastructure comprising several thousand servers on-premise and reaching into the cloud. We offer training opportunities in Germany and Korea, you will co-work together with global experts to implement SAP Intelligent Enterprise and Cloud strategy.
