Senior Software Engineer – Geneva
Brief Description:
The Senior Software Engineer plays a critical role in solving complex business problems by working closely with Technical Product Managers, review the functional requirements and build a large, dependable and scalable software product for Geneva – Our industry-leading enterprise investment management accounting solution.
Description:
SS&C Advent, a leading provider of award-winning software and services for the global investment management industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer who is passionate working in software development and enjoys solving business and technical problems. The individual needs to be self-initiative, a team player and have a can-do attitude to work successfully in our fast-paced agile development environment.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor or higher in computer science, computer engineering, or any related field
- Be able to work independently
- Conscientious working attitude
- Strong ability to work under relatively high pressure
- English Level
1. Basic English Level:
1. CET-4 (non-English major basic skills)
2. Spoken English Level:
1. Working level Communication
3. Reading + writing English Level:
1. Write & Read without help of dictionary (technical documents only)
Technical Requirement
- Must have 5 years + working experience in C++/Unix or Linux or Windows
- Must be able and willing to work with complex existing code base
- Knowledge of financial instruments and the financial industry is highly preferred
- Strong problem solving and debugging skills
- Experience in Microsoft SQL server (T-SQL, Stored Procedure, database tools, etc.) or Mongo DB (or other NOSQL database systems) is highly preferred
- 1 year+ working experience in C# or VB .NET is a plus
Other requirements
- To be an independent, self-reliant contributor but must be able to blend in with the team and culture at the same time.
- Except working on Geneva core accounting, this person will also work with other team members on any Geneva features.
