Technical Service Engineer

Title: Technical Service Engineer
Location: Guangzhou Shanghai
Role Purpose:
Provision of technical and maintenance support to the business unit through identification of opportunities, definition needs and putting forth solutions in chosen markets
Contribution:
C1. Area of responsibility
• Translate technical data in development stage into opportunities to promote Company’s materials
• Adapt systems to improve grade and track technical complaints/ claims and information
• Review existing procedures and manage complaints from customers
• Monitor level of compliance with internal and external safety procedures and actively educate others of necessary compliance
• Review and provide incremental improvements on product properties through coordination with production and manufacturing team KPIs
 Identification of opportunities
 Proper management of customer technical complaints/ claims
 Compliance with existing procedures and creation of awareness amongst stakeholders
C2. People
• Lead and coach small project team to deliver project plan or lead and coach cross functional team to deliver routine service KPIs
 Efficient and effective delivery of projects
C3. Customer
• Support Sales function to plan and introduce new product to customers through processing and technical skills
• Utilize and leverage on existing materials to improve operations
• Drive customer projects to support creation of profitable business
• Provide solution for technical complaints
• Help customers to optimize their production with Company products KPIs
 Analysis of data to facilitate decision making
 Improvement of operations (e.g. low-cost, higher efficiency processing)
 Creation of new opportunities through new projects
C4. Interfaces
• Participate pro-actively as member of functional network to develop positive relations with external contacts
• Build external contacts at customer, suppliers and end user level to achieve business goals
• Participate in standardization to promote business goals
• Identify patent application opportunities for material/ application combinations to safeguard Company intellectual rights and competitive advantage
• Exchange experience with Borealis BU application team and technical centers KPIs
 Development and maintenance of contact and relationships with key stakeholders
 Number of new patents filed
Skills:
S1. Education
• University degree or equivalent, or
• Polytechnic vocational education
S2. Experience
• 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience
• Basic understanding of corporate strategy
• Good knowledge of products, manufacturing and application technology
• Good knowledge of commercial and value chain
• Good knowledge of Company procedures and systems
• Basic knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights
• Hands on skills on relevant manufacturing equipment at customer’s plants

• Good proficiency in spoken and written English
• Good proficiency in native language
• Competence in application of standard office software
