Postdoctoral Fellow (Chemical Engineering)
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellow position in the School of Engineering at James Cook University. The position is associated with a research project funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC DP) “Production of structured designer particles with high encapsulation capacities and efficiencies.” The person will be involved in the design and conduct of experiments, data analysis and interpretation, and day-to-day management of the project. He/she will also be involved in the supervision of PhD and undergraduate students.
The applicant should possess a PhD in chemical or mechanical engineering or related areas with a strong background in experimental fluid mechanics and mathematical/numerical modelling. A high achievement evidenced by publication in quality journals is also essential. Knowledge in liquid drop formation by laminar jet break-up or related techniques, flow–focusing, surface chemistry and biodegradable polymers is desirable. The position is full time at Academic level A for a fixed term of 3 years subject to a satisfactory probation period of 6 months. The remuneration package will be in the range of $58,312 to $62,484 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of 17%.
