In the year of Jiachen, the virtuous elders of Shebei, moved by love for their homeland and concern for the welfare of their native village, conceived a plan to build a pavilion. The village elders took the lead, and the villagers, along with daughters married away, responded wholeheartedly—generously contributing their resources, wisdom, and efforts. Thus, at the entrance of the village, a pavilion was erected and named "Nostalgia."
This site was once a vital thoroughfare linking north and south, bearing witness to scholars setting off on journeys and mothers awaiting their return. Now, this pavilion stands here—its form dignified, blending ancient elegance with modern sensibility. It serves as a gathering place for villagers to share stories of home and as a solace for weary travelers longing for their roots. Within the pavilion, one may raise a cup as gentle breezes pass by; leaning on its rails and gazing afar, the mountains and rivers feel intimately dear.
The donors, each harboring a heart of tender gratitude, joined hands in this splendid endeavor. Such acts of kindness reflect a profound attachment to home, a hope to remember one's origins, and a commitment to uphold the spirit of mutual care.
Now, we inscribe this stone to commemorate their contributions and honor their goodwill. May this pavilion stand steadfast through wind and rain, and may our hearts remain bound to home even as we wander like stars afar.
Erected with reverence by all the village of Shebei
On an auspicious day in mid-autumn, the year of Yisi
