『521』子曰:「甯武子,邦有道,則知;邦無道,則愚。其知可及也;其愚不可及也。」
※春文斋:帮有道,尽心竭智助君治国,死而后已;邦无道当尽心尽力智谏,装蠢虽可保身,然终非君子也。君子杀身成仁,岂愚忠之徒哉?《论语注疏》邢昺疏:“若遇邦国有道则显其知谋,若遇无道则韬藏其知而佯愚。”此正解,但朱熹在《论语集注》中出于纲常愚忠之理的观点,与邢昺正相反:“按春秋传,武子仕卫,当文公、成公之时,文公有道,而武子无事可见,此其知之可及也。成公无道,至于失国,而武子周旋其闲,尽心竭力,不避艰险。”
James Legge《The Analects of Confucius》:
The Master said, "When good order prevailed in his country, Ning Wu acted the part of a wise man. When his country was in disorder, he acted the part of a stupid man. Others may equal his wisdom, but they cannot equal his stupidity."
“有道”是合乎道德,合乎治国理念,秩序当然主导着社会,“good order prevailed”。但有秩序未必等于“邦有道”,道路以目也无人敢造次。
可以说是“acted Stupid man”,但不能说成“acted wise man”,智者是装不出来的,不如用“show his wisdon”。
