『157』子曰:「直哉史魚!邦有道,如矢;邦無道,如矢。君子哉蘧伯玉!邦有道,則仕;邦無道,則可卷而懷之。」
※:史鱼不求生以害仁,不计个人安危,如矢直射昏君,可谓杀身成仁之志士也。蘧伯玉卷而怀之,求生害仁,明哲保身,非真君子也,不如史鱼远甚。
The Zi said, "free-spoken Si Yu. When principle prevails盛行 in a state, like an arrow. when without principle , like an arrow. Chu Po-yu! Man of honour, When principle prevails in a state, be an office. when without principle , he can roll up and keep in his breast."
『159』子曰:「志士仁人,無求生以害仁,有殺身以成仁。」
※:只要主义真。
The Zi said, " a person with lofty ideals and virtue will not seek to live injuring virtue. They will even sacrifice lives to preserve virtue."
『1515』子曰:「躬自厚而薄責於人則遠怨矣!」
※:严于律己,宽待他人则无怨矣。
The Zi said, "requires much from himself and little from others, will keep from being resentment."
『1520』子曰:「君子疾沒世而名不稱焉。」
※:邦无道,不称名。
The Zi said, "The superior man dislikes his name not being mentioned."
『1523』子曰:「君子不以言舉人,不以人廢言。」
The Zi said, "The superior man does not promote a man simply on account of his words, nor does repealing words because of the man."
『1536』子曰:「當仁不讓於師。」
※:“仁”面前人人平等。
The Zi said, "In the face of perfect virtue, do not give precedence even to teacher.."
『1539』子曰:「有教無類。」
※:普及教育,利国利民
The Zi said, "teaching no classes."
