Real Madrid’s Fabio Coentrao has reportedly been targeted by Inter as their search for a new left-back continues.

Corriere dello Sport has reported today that the Portugal international is being tracked after the Nerazzurri encountered difficulties with Zenit’s Domenico Criscito and Manchester City’s Gael Clichy.

The paper reports that it was decided in a summit between Coach Roberto Mancini and directors Piero Ausilio and Marco Fassone on Saturday that a top-level full back was required.

Corriere suggests that Coentrao has been targeted as he is behind Marcelo in the Merengues pecking order and hasn’t played since the start of May due to injury problems.

It is believed that the Nerazzurri will attempt to sign the 27-year-old on loan due to these fitness concerns.
