After Inter’s lackluster performance in their preseason friendly against AE
K Athens, coach Roberto Mancini spoke to Premium Sport:

“It is hard to change a lot in three days time. We were better in the secon
d half, and our back line have only played three matches together.  We lacke
d speed, but this will take time to build up. We will have to improve this a
t the start of the campaign. I am sorry for Kovacic. Unfortunately we have t
o follow the rules of Uefa’s Financial Fair Play.  This does not mean that
we will not have a strong team.  We are all disappointed, from the President
to the players, but we had to make sacrifices. Kovacic and Shaqiri left for
the same reason, and now we have to focus on different matters.  Since we s
acrificed two important players, we will be able to bring in players in the
positions we are currently lacking. Midfielders and fullbacks? We will see…
