Milan target Kovacic dropped

Milan interest in Mateo Kovacic has sky-rocketed after he was dropped for Real Madrid’s clash with Barcelona.

The former Inter midfielder was only signed in August 2015 for   31m.

Still only 21, the Croatia international has struggled for playing time.

He was surprisingly dropped from the squad entirely by Zinedine Zidane for their Clasico this weekend.

This revived already existing reports from the Corriere dello Sport this week that Kovacic will be sold over the summer and Milan are preparing a swoop.

The Rossoneri hope to get Kovacic on a one-year loan so they can revive his form.
