Napoli see Milik as Icardi alternative
By Football Italia staff
With Inter wanting over 60m for Mauro Icardi, Napoli are turning to Ajax’s Arkadiusz Milik to replace Gonzalo Higuain.
They need a replacement for Higuain, who is heading to Juventus tomorrow for 90m.
Icardi is the first choice and a meeting with his representatives was confirmed today, but Inter seem determined not to sell their best player for less than 60m, maybe even more.
According to Sportitalia, this inspired Napoli to look at an old target they had since abandoned: Milik.
The 22-year-old Poland international is admired by Coach Maurizio Sarri and impressed at Euro 2016.
An initial offer was turned down, but Napoli are ready to improve the proposal to 20m.
Milik moved to Germany in January 2013 for Bayern Leverkusen and went to Ajax in July 2014.
