Icardi opens to Inter, but...
By Football Italia staff
Mauro Icardi writes love letters to Inter on social media, but his agent still demands a salary raise and opens to Napoli.
The drama surrounding the future of the Argentinian striker looks nowhere near finding a resolution. The player's agent and wife Wanda Nara successfully got the Nerazzurri to promise a new, more lucrative salary for their captain, after she threatened they would leave for Napoli.
However, the club insists that they will only offer their poacher a new contract once the transfer window is closed, a scenario which is not ideal for the Icardis, as they would no longer be able to organise a move to a different team.
The situation, as it stands, shows signs of a different approach by Mauro and Wanda, with the former sending warm messages to the Nerazzurri on social media, and the latter still pushing for a new deal.
Wanda wants the salary to be raised to 5m per season from the 2.6m that Icardi currently earns, and is happy to leap onto the Napoli boat if this demand is not met.
