Pioli: ‘No Candreva problem’

New Inter Coach Stefano Pioli assures there’s no problem with Antonio Candreva - “I’ve always thought he was a top player”.

The midfielder slammed Lazio and Pioli when he made the move to the Nerazzurri, saying that the tactician had broken promises to him.

When the Beneamata appointed the Coach as Frank de Boer’s successor the question of their relationship naturally arose.

“I’ve always thought he was a top player,” Pioli said in his presentation Press conference.

“It’s a different context, I’m sure he’ll give his all for this cause. I think he can do better and he has the quality to give even more. That’s what I expect.”

Inter have a reputation for chaos, something which perhaps only Jose Mourinho has been able to keep under control in recent years.

“We need to try and have a winning mentality. The team has the ability for a solid style of play and that gives us an advantage over our opponents.

“The most important thing is to go onto the pitch with the desire to push your opponents down, if we combine passion and sacrifice with our technical ability then we can become a strong team.

“We’ll be successful if everyone gives their all, making their qualities available for the good of the team. Talent isn’t enough.

“I want a team which plays with its heart on its sleeve, we have a fanbase which has always showed passion and we need to use that energy.

“If we play with passion we can do something.”
