Barcelona are reportedly lining up a move for Ajax striker Klaas-Jan
Huntelaar and Internazionale defender Cristian Chivu...

The Catalan club's incoming boss, Josep Guardiola, is preparing to strengthen
his squad over the summer in an effort to end Barca's two-season trophyless
streak.

With Samuel Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Giovani dos Santos all set to leave the
club, according to reports, and Guardiola is keen to bolster his attacking
options by signing a world-class striker.

Barcelona's number one transfer target is said to be Lyon's 20-year-old Karim
Benzema, but they are also lining up Huntelaar in case they miss out on the
Frenchman.

However, it is understood that the Dutch striker wants to stay at Amsterdam
Arena one more year, having even expressed his wish to incoming Ajax coach
Marco van Basten.

Barcelona are also reported to have added Chivu to their summer wish-list.
The Romanian international was very close to signing with Bar04a at the end
of last season, but he moved to Inter Milan instead.

Although he has been with the Nerazzurri for just one year and is paid around
4.5 million per season, Chivu has always expressed his wish to play in
Spain, with the player's agent, Daniel Becali, having claimed that
"everything is possible."
