Mancini May Not Stay - Inter
Inter director Ernesto Paolillo has admitted that Roberto Mancini may not
still be coach of the club next season.
Mancini’s future on the Nerazzurri bench has been in doubt over the past few
months, following a number of dressing room rows and due to the fallout from
his dramatic resignation u-turn after the Champions League exit to Liverpool
in March.
Yesterday afternoon Mancini won the Scudetto for a third straight year with
Inter, and director Gabriele Oriali declared after the 2-0 win at Parma that
the boss would “101 per cent” stay on.
However Paolillo does not share the confidence of the 1982 World Cup winner.
“In terms of technical ability, Mancini isn’t in question,” he stated on
Rai Radio Anch’io Sport.
“But he needs to make his position clear to Massimo Moratti, so that they
can find an agreement.
“The meeting will happen either during the week or after the Coppa Italia
Final, depending on Mancini and Moratti’s schedules.
“Everything will be made clear shortly. There’s more than an 80 per cent
chance that the project will continue with Mancini.
“Mancio has constructed and guided this side and if he hadn’t said certain
things after the game against Liverpool then we wouldn’t be having this
discussion now.”
