ROME - Cristian Chivu can now turn his attention to Euro 2008 after the Tim Cup final at the Stadio Olimpico.
"It was a wonderful final that could have ended in a draw," said the Romania captain after Saturday's 2-1 defeat. "Roma suffered a lot from our pressing and they probably wouldn't have had the strength to react if Burdisso's effort had gone in instead of hitting the post.
"For their second goal there was a foul on Cesar that the referee didn't see, but there's no use starting useless disputes and it's right to pay our compliments to Roma.
"We won the Scudetto and that was our main objective. They won the Coppa Italia and the Super Cup, so they showed they are stronger in one-legged matches. But let's not forget that at the Olimpico in the first half of the season we won by scoring four goals and this is very significant."
On a personal note, the Romanian defender added: "If I have managed to play in these last games I have to say thanks to the doctors and the physiotherapists.
"We know we have finished off the season with an excellent performance. Mancini wished us a good holiday and a good European Championship for all those who will be with their national teams."
