Vieira: We Wanted The Double
Patrick Vieira was left to rue his side's luck after Inter blew their chance
to complete the double and lift the Coppa Italia.
The Nerazzurri were narrowly beaten 2-1 by a rampant Roma side who took
revenge for losing the Scudetto to Roberto Mancini's men this season.
The Giallorossi were the better side on the night but Vieira believes his
team were unlucky.
"We wanted to conclude the season by winning the double which always has an
important significance in terms of football," said Vieira.
"Roma won and it was right that we applauded them but anything could of
happened in the game.
"The Giallorossi played a great match but we were unlucky, otherwise it would
have been a completely different game.
"We should have at least drawn, and that would have been the right result."
Inter will now be focusing on trying to win the Champions League next season,
as this is the competition Inter president Massimo Moratti would love to win
most.
