Toldo Bitter After Coppa Defeat
Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo was disappointed after his side lost the Coppa Italia to Roma 2-1 on Saturday night.
The second choice stopper made a rare appearance in goal but he could not prevent Philippe Mexes from giving his side a well deserved lead just before half time.
Simone Perrotta extended the Giallorossi's lead in the second half before Pele struck for Inter on the hour mark but it proved in vain.
The veteran goalkeeper was left bitterly disappointed after the game but he insists that his side have to accept the defeat and take the result with a pinch of salt.
"The two strongest teams of the season played an open game and the result was a throughly entertaining match," said Toldo.
"This time Roma won and we have to accept the verdict from the pitch.
"We were stronger than them in the title race and we deserved our Scudetto."
Inter pipped Roma to the Serie A title last weekend but the Giallorossi had the last of the season's laughs by keeping hold of their Coppa crown after their victory in the competition last season.
