Figo: If Mancini Stays, I Go
Speaking to Portuguese sports daily A Bola, Internazionale midfielder Luis Figo stated that he will almost certainly leave the San Siro if Roberto Mancini remains in charge...
Mancini is rumoured to be on the verge of being sacked as boss of Inter, meaning that the door would be open for a candidate such as José Mourinho to take over.
Such an eventuality would be a source of joy for Figo, who states that he will only be able to compensate for what has been a difficult season with the nerazzurri this year if there's a new boss in place.
He said, "I have the physical condition to do one more season, but I only want to have the same status as my team-mates.
"If there is a change in the team's coach, then I will have a lot more of a chance of staying at Inter. Otherwise, it will be nearly impossible to stay.
"My situation this year was not the most pleasant one. I know I can do a lot more: I had some injuries and I had to undergo surgery."
Would Mourinho being installed as boss have a bearing on his decision to stay?
"Of course," he concluded.
