Jose Mourinho was seen with Inter president Massimo Moratti in a Paris on Friday evening.
The Portuguese coach has been linked with the Beneamata ever since Mancini chose to walk out on the club only to make a U-turn on his decision when his side were eliminated from the Champions League.
The former Chelsea coach is on the verge of joining Inter and he cannot wait to get started.
"It will be the challenge that everyone says it will," Mourinho told Jornal de Negocios.
"They tell me that I have to win there. This is what you expect of me and I like the expectation.
"I will face a lot of pressure in my next job. However, it is in these situations that I become ever stronger.
"As a trainer, I consider myself quite simple. I like people to be open with me. In the end, I am easy to work with. It is enough for players just to follow me."
Mourinho is already planning to spend big in the summer and he will be looking to go shopping in South West London. However, he is not going to Harrods but rather the Chelsea megastore to swoop for Frank Lampard.
"He is the best professional I have ever worked with," explained Mourinho.
"I have never met anyone who compares to Frank."
Inter are expected to announce Mourinho's appointment officially within the next few days and his first task is to bring the Champions League to San Siro.
Moratti is keen on European glory and he will pay any price to get it.
Mourinho has proved his genius on the big European stage winning the Champions League in 2004 Porto.
