Ibra May Still Miss Rest Of Season
Reports in Italy suggest that there is still a good chance that Zlatan
Ibrahimovic may not play again this season.
Ibrahimovic has been in poor form in recent months and one of the main
reasons for this has been a chronic knee problem that he has been playing
with.
The Swede has not played for Inter for over a month, with his last appearance
coming in the 1-1 draw with Lazio on March 29.
The 26-year-old has been receiving therapy for the injury in Sweden, but he
has now returned to San Siro, and was present in the stands yesterday to
watch the derby defeat to Milan.
Prior to the game, Ibrahimovic declared that he expected to return to the
Inter team for this Sunday’s match with Siena.
"I believe that I will still be able to give Inter my contributions as the
season ends and I think I will be ready for Sunday May 11,” he stated.
However latest reports in the peninsula doubt whether this will be the case,
as doubts still linger over the condition of his knee.
Inter director Lele Oriali confirmed that medical tests will be carried on
Ibrahimovic this week.
"Zlatan has just arrived, and we will evaluate him during the week because we
do not know too well what he has done in Sweden,” stated the 1982 World Cup
winner.
Ibrahimovic is almost certain to miss the midweek Coppa Italia semi final
second leg clash with Lazio in Rome.
