Zanetti: Well Done Roma But We Deserve It
Inter captain Javier Zanetti believes his side deserve the Scudetto but he
admits that they suffered for it.

The Nerazzurri have stumbled in the last few weeks and the pressure began to
take it's toll after their loss in the Milan derby. However, Zanetti and co
stuck together and showed their worth with a 2-0 win against Parma- a result
which sees the Scudetto stay sewn on their black and blue jerseys.

The Captain was euphoric and he was full of praise for his team.

"We suffered alot this year but the whole team deserves this victory, we have
showed great determination," Zanetti told Sky Italia.

"We were a little worried at times but we have showed that we are the
strongest team in this league.

"The most important thing is that we showed togetherness and the group
responded in the best way possible."

Zanetti was also annoyed with what the Italian press had written in the last
week leading up to the Scudetto showdown. The Captain believes it was an
attempt to distract his side from matters on the pitch and he has vented his
opinion.

"If we think about what was written....they tried to write everything about
us and there was absolutely no need," raged Il Capitano.

"We have to compliment Roma however as they believed in it until the end but
what was written is shameful and disrespectfull."

Zanetti was excellent during the game and he has been a loyal server ever
since his arrival at the club in 1995. No doubt he will be looking ahead to
next year and in particular the Champions League.
