职位一：软件开发实习生(MTS Intern)
VMware is seeking talented Computer Science or Computer Engineering interns to join our Beijing ESX kernel networking team.
Your duties will include:
1. Research and study networking security applications and solutions.
2. Design and develop system prototypes.
3. Do kernel networking development.
Requirements
1. Majoring in Computer Science or related is required
2. Able to work at least 3 days for 6 months or longer since 2011 March;
3. Must have solid experience and knowledge in Linux kernel.
4. Programming languages: C and C++
5. Networking knowledge, familiarity with TCP/IP protocols.
6. Self starter.
7. Excellent written and verbal English communications and organization skills
职位二：Desktop Administrator Intern(桌面系统管理员实习生)
Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of front line support of Windows PC Hardware and Software, laptops, and VMware virtual machines, to the various Corporate IT business groups within the Bejing, China facility. This will include but is not limited to:
1.Debugging of hardware issues and conflicts,
2.Installation and upgrading of software packages,
3.Troubleshooting Windows system issues
4.General Ticket resolution via “Helpzilla” help desk system
5.Install standard Corp images and configure PCs and Laptops
6.Troubleshooting BlackBerry device issues
As an aside to the general duties listed above the successful candidate may also be asked to complete a specific project in relation to an area of expertise in IT.
Daily mentoring will be provided from a permanent staff member located in Singapore.
Interaction with team members at our sister sites in EMEA, other parts of Asia and the US will also be part of day to day duties.
Specific areas of Knowledge:
1.Operating Systems:
2.Windows XP, Vista and ‘basic’ LINUX.
Software:
1.Internet Explorer, Outlook, Microsoft Office 2007/2010, Adobe Acrobat, Windows Explorer, and the suite of VMware products used at the site.
General:
It is important that candidates have some background in PCs and are competent in working their way around the standard PC file systems. Students who possess strong problem solving skills, an ability to work within team environment, an ability to follow detailed procedures and demonstrate a willingness to use own initiative are at an advantage.
This position is been offered as a 6 month industrial placement for third level students as part of their college curriculum. The contact may be extended beyond this should business needs require it.
职位三： EcoSystem Engineering Intern
Responsibilities:
1、Design and implement part of next generation VMware vSphere networking driver subsystem and develop it with low-level system programming
2、As a hands-on developer, be capable of fully understanding the networking stack and system and implementing the changes required to improve networking system usability, reliability and performance
3、Expand network device support in VMware cloud environment
Requirements:
1 Majoring in Computer Science or related is required
2 Able to work full-time for 6 months or longer
3 Working knowledge of modern UNIX/Linux and hands-on experience in kernel, C, Assembly development, debugging and problem analysis
4 Knowledge of x86 platform CPU and server architecture
5 Solid knowledge of networking
6 Experience in device driver programming is a plus
7 Excellent written and verbal English communications and organization skills
