VMware is seeking talented Computer Science or Computer Engineering interns to join our ESX QA team. As one of our R&D Engineers, you will be responsible for testing the delivery of our enterprise product set (ESX,ESXi). This includes test design, test development, test execution and test automation. You will work closely with other developers and help ship products of very high quality.
Responsibilities:
oPerform testing on VMware Flagship Virtual Infrastructure products
oWrite and update test documents and test cases
oEnhance and create QA Automation test scripts and configurations based on project needs, execute automated test and analyze test results
oDevelop tools for the QA team
Requirements:
oMajoring in Computer Science or related is required
oAble to work full-time for 6 months or longer
oLinux/Unix and Windows environments and OS knowledge
oWorking knowledge and hands-on coding experience in Java and Shell script
oUnderstanding of PC peripherals (storage, USB, etc)
oNetworking knowledge
oGood troubleshooting and debugging skills to find the root cause
oExcellent written and verbal English communications and organization skills
oExperience with Perl and/or Python is a big plus
oExperience with SilkTest is a big plus
oExperience with industrial tool writing is a big plus
oKnowledge of software QA methodology is a big plus
oKnowledge of software life-cycle is a plus
oNetworking configuration/setup hands-on experience is a plus
