Job Description
IBM InfoSphere BigInsights Description:
Big Data processing is becoming more and more hot in industry and IBM invests significantly in this new area to gain the leadership position in the marketplace. IBM InfoSphere Biginsights product, as the major big data effort and IBM strategic cloud product, is being built by CDL team and other worldwide teams based on Hadoop related open source technology and other IBM research assets. By joining this project, you will build deep skills on new exciting technology, improve analyze/design large scale system capability and working experience of software development.
Job Responsibility:
- Working with engineers and manager, design and implement innovative tools to help improve team productivity. All development adheres to agile development goals and principles.
- Study latest Apache Open source components and help team's bluewash work which integrates some other components inside BigInsights product
Required Skills:
- Strong Java development and object oriented programming skills
- Strong Linux programming/administration skills
- Strong problem analysis and resolution skills, quick learner
- Teamwork, good written and verbal communication skills, fluent in both spoken and written English
- Understanding of distributed systems, map-reduce algorithms, Hadoop and performance optimization techniques. Hadoop/HBase/Sqoop development/running experience is a big plus.
- Familiar with database technology(DB2) is a plus
- Web application development experience is a plus
- Experience with agile development, open source development experience is a plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or above Degree in Computer Science or relevant areas
Other Requirements:
- Ensure to work 4 days a week at least
- Ensure to work to 2012.12.31 at least
- On board date: As soon as possible
