The Shanghai office, working closely with the Firm’s Hong Kong and other offices worldwide, represents Chinese and foreign clients in their complex transactions relating to China, as well as Chinese domestic entities in their corporate transactions abroad. The litigation/investigation team in the Shanghai office, regularly represents both corporations and individuals on sensitive enforcement matters involving securities law, accounting and book-keeping standards and other internal financial controls, the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ("FCPA"), the U.K. Bribery Act, other corruption enforcement regimes, the Economic Espionage Act ("EEA"), antitrust and competition issues, health care programs, government sanctions and trade policies, and other financial transactions, among others.
Job Position: Law Clerks
This top tier international law firm is now seeking several Law Clerks to work with their litigation/investigation team in Shanghai.
Job Description:
Law clerks will be expected to work closely with the litigation team on the ongoing projects relating to Asia-based government enforcement and investigations practices. The major responsibility of this law clerkship position is reviewing various kinds of documents relating to the ongoing investigation projects, but the law clerks will also be called upon to do other assignments including legal research, translation, memo drafting etc., if necessary. The law clerkship will last at least for two months, preferably starting from Late June 2014.
Requirements:
- top graduate law students
- strong interest in legal practice, experience as a legal intern in a top law firm is preferred
- strong English and Chinese language skills
- hardworking, responsive, team player, good organizational skills, and self-motivated
