Job Title:
Intern / Analyst
Objective:
Assist ARDIAN Asia team with investment activities in Asia, based in Beijing.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Primary fund of funds investments:
* Screens fund investment opportunities in the Asia Private Equity market
* Compiles information and conduct private equity market research: competitors,
GPs, funds, companies, industries, environment etc.
* Meets and participates to evaluate fund managers
* Helps conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities (strategy,
team, performance)
* Assists the Investment Manager / analyst in writing investment memorandums
* Monitors fund investments: review quarterly financial statements, and report
from underlying fund investments, monitor cash flows from underlying funds
* Helps on presentations to global team, and prepares reporting presentations to
existing investors
Direct investments in companies:
* Produces company snapshots and carries out market researches (internet,
databases, etc.)
* Drafts financial models (adapt models to companies’ specificities, perform
sensitivity analysis, etc.) and prepares companies’ financial analysis (evaluate
historical financial statements and projected business plan)
* Assists the Investment Manager / analyst in writing investment memorandums
* Contributes to portfolio investments monitoring: collect and analyze periodic
financial reports
* Prepares documents in collaboration with the Investment Manager / Analyst for
internal reporting, Advisory Boards and Annual General Meetings, existing investors
reporting.
Secondary fund of funds investments:
* Helps in investment opportunities sourcing effort by performing market researches
* Values and prices private equity assets (portfolios, companies, funds)
* Prepares financial projects and transaction modelling
* Monitors fund investments: analyze performance vs. targeted performance,
update projections
* Helps on presentations to global team, and prepares reporting presentations to
existing investors
Skills Requirements
* Strong ability to conduct financial and credit analysis (finance background
preferred)
* Excellent communication skills; fluent in English speaking and writing
* High motivation and attention to detail
* Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as being a team player
