ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Freewheel Media, Inc., a leading fast growing Video Adserving company is seeking an Intern for the Systems Operations team. You will contribute to maintaining FreeWheel’s complex production/development environments and along the way work closely with global Systems Engineers to troubleshoot software and hardware issues. You will have the experience working inside a local server room and see firsthand the setup of racks and switches to operate a server environment. You will have the opportunity to work alongside top talent developers and production operations engineers in a fast growing tech atmosphere. This internship will also give you a chance to demonstrate and sharpen your detailed oriented, teamwork, plus analytical and problem solving skills. Aside from the technical aspects, the ideal candidate is someone who is self-motivated, reliable and a fun addition to the team.
OPPORTUNITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Learn and manage a global Production environment including a group of front-end & back-end services and infrastructure components.
o Deploy applications at large scale and participate in their releases.
o Monitor applications, services, and related infrastructure components.
o Work with developers through software lifecycle to continuously improve technical operability.
ABOUT YOU
o Good understanding of Linux Operating System and its major components
o Good understanding of fundamental networking protocols
o Coding skills in at least one of Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, and Go
o Ability to learn new programming languages, new software frameworks, and APIs
o Good written and verbal English language skills
