Context
As a global leader in low-carbon energy, the EDF Group covers every sector of expertise, from electricity generation to trading and transmission grids. EDF builds on the expertise of its people, its R&D and engineering skills, its experience as a leading industry operator and the attentive support of its customers to deliver competitive solutions that successfully reconcile economic growth with climate protection.
With 3 sites in France and 7 abroad, EDF R&D conducts research both at national and international level. More specifically, the Beijing R&D center focuses on nuclear, renewable energies, hydrogen, and storage, etc. It is an asset for participating in large-scale Chinese demonstrators that involve smart grids, sustainable towns and cities and CO2 capture and sequestration.
Hydrogen is a flexible energy carrier, and it is zero-emission secondary energy. Hydrogen has a long industrial chain, including production, transportation & storage, and application (industry and mobility). EDF focus on Green H2 which is produced by low carbon electricity including renewable energy and water electrolysis, and supply to users in transportation and industry sectors.
Internship Description
The intern will work in Modeling for Generation (M4G) team, located at EDF R&D China Center, Beijing office.
The research work on H2 database setup and techno-economic analysis on hydrogen will be launched during the internship. It is important to investigate the technology and financial risks associated with deploying hydrogen production or hydrogen stations. It could help EDF better understand the hydrogen value chain and the market barrier in China.
