The Health Solutions Group at ATC Healthcare offers an exciting opportunity for a summer internship. We are looking for a graduate student with a background in architecture and interior design to work with the Healthcare UX Design team. In this position you will work together with a team of user experience designers, user experience researchers, visual and identity designers and product managers to assist in the formation of design proposals ranging from spatial focused arrangements for hospital environments based on research done of specialists’ work flows, to creative explorations of interior design attributes that reflect Microsoft’s emerging vision for the hospital of the future.

The ideal candidate for this internship should be curious to practice the discipline of architecture and interior design within a niche domain defined by the convergence of healthcare information technology and healthcare design.  You will be expected to contribute to these areas:

  Interior spatial design and floor planning arrangements based on documented and specific work flows in healthcare environments.
  In close collaboration with UX designers and researches assist in the formulation of conceptual spatial arrangements/models/formulas that aim to increase efficiencies and synergies between processes directed from software products and their relation to interior spaces and movements of patients and hospital personnel.  
  Assist the concept design team in prototyping and illustrating ideas of interior spaces and physical environments that reflect Microsoft’s emerging vision for the hospital of the future.

Skills:
  CAD/3D software
  Architectural model making / prototyping
  Ability  to translate specific work flows into spatial layouts and floor plans.
  Ability to translate art direction into forms and design attributes reflected on interiors
  Analytical, conceptual, creative, visionary.
