1.      Main purpose of the role and key responsibilities

    * Define user and system requirements for Telecom-Internet application platform project for the rural environment.
    * Prepare specification documents and slides according to the specified requirements.
    * Core team member to participate in the design, development and testing of the prototype according to the specifications.

2.      Requirements

    * General understanding and knowledge of telecommunication technologies.
    * Good understanding of the latest IT and Internet technologies.
    * University degree in Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
    * Excellent English language (written and spoken) skills.
    * Excellent communication, presentation and (virtual) team working skills.
    * Prior software development project experience using Java, XML, SQL, JBOSS, Hibernate, REST, IBM Eclipse, mash-ups technologies and databases (e.g. PostgreSql, MySQL, Oracle).
    * Knowledge in the rural ICT, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) would be an added advantage.
    * Working time: at least 3 days/week for 6 months starting August 2009.

    * Eager to learn new telecommunication and Internet technologies.
    * Resourceful and innovative in solving problems.
    * Strong result and quality orientation.
    * Ability to meet deadlines.
