Intern – Virtual Infrastructure Management
Interns on this team are building systems that manage the interaction of Virtual Infrastructure crossing hypervisors. They use virtualization as a key technology to design and implement solutions that solve real-world problems. Their work focuses on developing scalable software capable of managing heterogeneous virtualization systems crossing hypervisors in datacenters and cloud.
As Intern, the candidate will join the design and implementation of key subsystems within an enterprise-class server management platform. The candidate must be able to actively contribute to design and architecture discussions. Self motivation, passion to new technology, quick learning and enthusiasm for a fast-paced environment with aggressive development cycles is critical.
Responsibilities:
* Design and develop the control and systems-management software for VMware's virtualization products crossing various hypervisors, taking into account scalability, reliability, security and usability.
* Work as intern with engineers in local and remote teams and develop assigned components and framework to ensure the successful implementation.
* Establish and enforce interface consistency while developing innovative designs
* Work with QA guys and ensure software testability, quality and stability
* Document and explain feature specifications for complex and/or innovative features
Requirements:
* Candidate of master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a leading university/institute
* Good experience of developing GUI on client in C#/C++ on Windows
* Experience in building systems-management and monitoring applications a big plus
* Understanding of system architecture, including processors, memory, storage and networking is a plus
* Good written and verbal communications skills in both Chinese and English
* Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
* Can work 3+ days per week within 6 months at least
