Job Description
Enterprise Modernization department of CDL is mainly focus on building, supporting and testing mainframe related Rational products. One of product in the department is Rational Business Developer (RBD), which is a simple, robust, unified approach to end-to-end construction of application and services that shields developers from intricacies of runtimes and middleware. At the heart of RBD is a language called Enterprise Generation Language (EGL) which is being positioned strategically as the newest business development language for enterprise modernization. EGL achieves platform independence not through a Virtual Machine or interpreter, but through compiling EGL program specifications into the languages that provide support for the desired runtime platform. In particular, IBM Rational has delivered deployment options via compilation of EGL into Java, COBOL, and most recently the JavaScript that supports Web 2.0 applications.

Job Responsibilities
- RBD/EGL development and testing
- Product maintenance and enhancement (Level-3 support)
- Customer support

Required Skills
Developer skills:
- Java, JavaScript, HTML, Web Service, Web 2.0
- OO programming
- Eclipse platform, technical skills on Eclipse plug-in application design and development

It will be better if you have below skills,
- Linux, AIX, System z, System i
- COBOL, RPG, 4GL languages

Essential characteristics:
- Effective communication
- Excellent communication skills in both written and oral English
- Ability to self-start, self-motivate, willing and able to learn new things quickly
- Problem-solving attitude and persistence
- Focus on quality and consumability

Qualifications(Education/Major/Certificates)
- Computer Science MS or equivalent
