VMware is seeking a talented intern to join our Technical Operations (TechOps) team, which provides engineering support service (ESS) to R&D staffers. You will be responsible for assisting the ESS service, which includes asset management, technical support, documentation, and process monitoring. You will become part of the team to support all QA engineers and developers in Beijing offices to resolve their technical issues. Here are the detail responsibilities and requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in asset and inventory management
• Assist and track new hire hardware handout
• Follow up and record TechOps order delivery
• Assist in asset management in Lab and MDF
• Track and update ESS inventory counts
• Coordinate loaner equipments
• Update inventory document
• Support fixed asset audit
• Install standard image for laptop or desktop
• Coordinate Dell technical support in responding to desktop hardware issue
• Monitor ticket status in Helpzilla system for local team
• Update WiKi web page and SharePoint portal of TechOps Beijing team
• Assist in drafting some process document
Requirements:
• Majoring in IT/IS Management, or Business Administration, or related
• Graduate student, first year or second year; good remarks in college years (before graduate school)
• Able to work at least 4 days a week for a six month period or longer
• Good communication ability in mandarin and English
• Able to work within team environment
• Technical knowledge and skills
• Fundamental knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7); able to install and configure an operating system and its hardware
• Understand PC hardware and its peripherals (memory, hard disk, storage, USB, KVM, etc)
• Proficiency in using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Networking knowledge
• Networking configuration/setup hands-on experience is a plus
