VMware is seeking talented Computer Science or Computer Engineering interns to join our VMware Datacenter Platform Group Beijing Development team. Your duties will include:

• Research and study hadoop and map reduce use cases, and deploy them on virtualization platforms.
• Automate the hadoop application deployment with scripts and web service UI.
• Explore, observe and measure how hadoop apps run, propose major enhancement requirements to support running hadoop effectively and efficiently in vsphere/vcenter.
• Study the clustering behavior, IO behavior and file system structure, write research report on technical challenges and issues.
• Design and develop system prototypes.

Requirements

• PhD or Master students majoring in Computer Science or related
• Solid knowledge on Algorithm, Java Programming, Spring Source
• Able to work at least 24 hours a week (including day time, night hours and weekend) for 6 months
• Programming languages: Java, C++  and C
• Experience and solid knowledge in OS, file systems, clustering, storages is required
•Knowledge of Virtualization and Cloud Computing is a plus.
•Rich experience on Hadoop Mapreduce & HDFS, J2EE.
• Must be self starter, quick learner, hands-on style, passionate and creative
• Excellent written and verbal English communications and organization skills
