Magnetar Capital, a global alternative asset manager, is currently
recruiting qualified college juniors and first-year Masters Students for its
fifth annual Financial Engineering Training Program (FETP) for employment in
the summer of 2011 in Beijing, New York and Chicago.
The Financial Engineering Training Program is a highly-competitive twelve-
week training and internship position for leading students with
concentrations in Finance, Mathematics and the Sciences who are interested
in a career in finance. Upon completion of the initial internship,
candidates are expected to continue working on projects until graduation.
The FETP provides Interns the opportunity to learn by working on important,
practical Financial Engineering assignments -- including business analytics,
financial modeling and quantitative research -- for a leading global
investment manager. Each Intern will work directly with both Magnetar
Financial Engineers and the Magnetar investment team.
Successful Interns will be considered for Full Time positions with Magnetar.
The Beijing team currently employs 32 Financial Engineers – 26 full-time
employees and 6 interns from the class of 2010 and 2011. As part of their
ongoing training, full-time employees occasionally travel to our offices in
Chicago, New York, or London to participate in meetings and training
programs. Compensation is highly competitive and positions offer substantial
long-term career growth.
