Chinese Intern With Overseas Experience Required

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations. Its mandate is to promote and accelerate sustainable industrial development in developing countries and economies in transition, and work towards improving living conditions in the world's poorest countries by drawing on its combined global resources and expertise.
UNIDO ITPO – China (www.unidoitpo.org.cn) is currently offering the opportunity for a graduate or graduate student to assist in the implementation of an EU funded energy efficiency program .The internship will be starting as soon as possible, and last until July 2010. Shorter internships will not be accepted.
The intern will work directly with the Chinese government, and be hosted in the office of the project lead organizer, the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS), in Haidian district. This internship offers selected individual to be supported and guided by UNIDO ITPO – China’s team leader of EU programs, and report on a day-to-day basis to the project manager at CNIS.
Interns do not receive a salary or emoluments from the United Nations.
Persons interested in taking the internship should meet the following criteria:
* Hold bachelor or masters degree in energy or environmental engineering, economics, business management, international relations, finance, or fields related to our activities, with good or excellent results.
* If the applicant pursues studies in a country where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, he or she must have completed at least three years of full-time studies at a university or an equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree.
* Have overseas experience, preferable from overseas studies
* Excellent spoken and written English skills
* Be willing to work 40 hours a week with occasional overtime
* Applicants with relevant work experience are preferred
