Intern Openings in Intel
The student will be responsible for system research and engineering
for 4G and
WiFi wireless systems. We offer first class working environment,
free and open
research atmosphere, and reasonable compensations.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
------------
Position 1: LTE RAN1
Your will analysis and evaluate standard proposals and
contributions via
simulations or derivations. Develop 3G/4G related ideas to improve
the
conventional wireless systems. Write Matlab/C/C++ codes to verify
the ideas.
Draft proposals/invention/papers for those ideas.
Requirements:
At least master candidate in EE/CS in related areas of wireless
communications.
Your advisor’s agreement is requried.
Enough office time in workdays for 6 months.
Fluent English skills in speaking and listening.
Ph.D. candidate and long time commitment are prefered.
Students from top engineering schools are prefered.
Good programming skills, good understanding of communication theory
and systems.
Relevant R&D experience is a big plus.
For those interested, please send your RESUME to
yuefengx.peng@intel.com

Position 2: WiFi Link Adaptation
You will analysis and evaluate WiFi link adaptation algorithms via
simulations and
derivations. Develop WiFi related ideas to improve the conventional
WiFi systems.
Write C/C++/Matlab codes to verify or demonstrate the ideas. Draft
invention/papers for those ideas.
Requirements:
At least master candidate in CS/EE in related areas of wireless
communications.
Your advisor’s agreement is required.
Enough office time in workdays for 6 months.
Fluent English in speaking and writing.
Ph.D. candidate and long time commitment are preferred.
Students from top engineering schools are preferred.
Familiar with 802.11 physical layer e.g. modulation coding scheme
and MIMO.
Good programming skills, good understanding of communication theory
and systems.
Programming skills for DSP and embedded systems are a big plus.
Relevant R&D experience is a big plus.
For those interested, please send your RESUME to

Position 3: Networking Software
Join a team of researchers at Intel Labs, responsible for software
development
that will be used for 3GPP Release 11 standards development. A big
part of standards
development involves generating new concepts, researching and
analyzing them using
simulation platforms such as OPNET or building a MATLAB-based
simulator.
You are expected to contribute to the simulation projects
especially in the
addition of necessary OPNET modules related to Power Management
and/or
Minimization of Drive Test features. Familiarity with wireless
networking
research background and OPNET simulation experience are beneficial.
Strong C/C++ software skills are required.
Technical Skills
1. Strong SW development skills (C/C++)
2. Knowledge in Network simulation and modeling (OPNET,
MATLAB)
3. Familiarity with wireless network architectures,
protocols and protocol stacks
4. Research experience in wireless networking technologies,
especially cellular (3GPP LTE) MAC protocols is desirable.
Education/Experience:
PhD, MS candidate in CS/EE
For those interested, please send your RESUME to
yuefengx.peng@intel.com

Positiion 4: LTE-WiFi Interworking
Your main responsibility is to investigate radio coexistence and
interworking
issues of 3GPP LTE with non-trusted non-3GPP systems such as WLAN
with particular
emphasis on the end-to-end delivery and QoS. You will extract the
complete
signaling and data protocols involved in a seamless QoS-preserving
handover to
WLAN and analyze latency and throughput of the control and traffic
channels and
propose efficient schemes to improve the state of the art. Your
fluency in 3GPP
LTE radio protocol stack and WLAN MAC and access protocols will be
critical. In
addition you need a good understanding of the application layer
encoding/decoding
schemes such as video compression and how the requirements are
translated to
transport and radio layer specifications.
Technical Skills
Detailed knowledge of 3GPP signaling, QoS, and handover protocols
Familiar with 802.11 channel access and MAC schemes
Experienced in developing math analysis models in C and Matlab
Knowledge of heterogeneous radio interference issues is a plus
General Qualifications
Fluent English in written and verbal
Ability for independent research
Education
PhD EE candidate preferred
For those interested, please send your RESUME to
