IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA), a member of the IHS family, is looking for superior talent for an internship in China. In this role, the intern will not only add immediate value to our work, but will also learn a great deal about our business and the energy sector in general. The individual will work with some of the world's thought leaders in the energy sector and gain valuable hands-on experience.

Based in our Beijing office, the intern will support the China Energy Advisory Service in its retainer research with a focus on the electric power and coal sectors and will report to the lead China power sector analyst. The internship will last for roughly two months from mid-June through mid-August with flexible starting and ending dates.

Responsibilities

Updating and organizing historical energy data, including demand by sector, generation fuel/technology mix (thermal, hydro, nuclear, renewables), key performance indicators of power systems, and other relevant data categories.

Help construct CERA’s monthly China Energy Provincial Profiles in PowerPoint for 16 key provinces, ensuring data and graphic accuracy and consistency.

Updating the natural gas and power plant databases with latest data and information.
更新天然气和电力行业最新建设资料和信息。
Support other ongoing research and consulting activities of the China Energy team and help frame research topics.

Qualifications

Keen attention to details and excellent analytical skills.

Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (speaking and reading), with strong bilingual ability to navigate various published sources to locate key data and information.

Preference given to candidates with prior experience or academic training in energy-related fields.
