Pólya第一次在论文中用了“central limit theorem”这个说法。bsxfun贴的那段英文是Pólya文章摘要里提到“central”的部分（原文非英文）。我再引用维基百科中关于为什么Pólya用“central”来命名这个定义的一段话。下面这段话的意思很清楚，Pólya是因为这个定理地位很重要（play a central role）才将其命名为“central”。当然，这里也提了，法国学派对“central”这个词另有解释，认为“central”指的是这个定理描述的是分布的“centre”而不是“tails”。


The actual term "central limit theorem" (in German: "zentraler Grenzwertsatz") was first used by George Pólya in 1920 in the title of a paper.[44][45] Pólya referred to the theorem as "central" due to its importance in probability theory. According to Le Cam, the French school of probability interprets the word central in the sense that "it describes the behaviour of the centre of the distribution as opposed to its tails".[45]
