This talk introduces how to use the theory of dynamical systems and singular traveling wave techniques developed in [Li & Chen, 2007] to understand peakons, periodic peakons, pseudo-peakon and compactons in a lot of models of shallow water wave equations. More than 10 papers have been published by IJBC in 2019-2024.
