Bertelsmann wants to uncover and reward the most creative and outstanding
new talent in media. In celebration of its 175th anniversary this year,
Bertelsmann is bringing the Talent Meets Bertelsmann program to China to
further its continued efforts to find the best and brightest to shape the
future of media.

Talent Meets Bertelsmann 2010 China Workshop
On July 14th and 15th, 20 students will attend the Talent Meets Bertelsmann
China Workshop at our China Corporate Center in Beijing. At the workshop,
you’ll have meet and mingle with various Bertelsmann senior executives and
other talented students from around the country on day 1, and be presented
with a business challenge on day 2. You will have the opportunity to
showcase your talent and creativity through your solution model to a jury of
Bertelsmann China’s senior executives.
Prizes
First prize – A trip to New York this November!
The 2 most outstanding students from the workshop will be going to New York
City for a wondrous tour of the headquarters of Random House –
Bertelsmann’s publishing arm, and the world’s largest publishing company.
Together with the winners from Talent Meets Bertelsmann Germany Workshop,
you will meet the managing directors of Random House, attend a workshop to
exchange ideas, and to conclude the trip, you will be taken on a sight-
seeing tour around New York city

- Training opportunities to enhance business skills at various Bertelsmann
University programs
- Career shadowing days with Bertelsmann’s senior executives as your mentor
How to apply
Our requirements:
- You are preferably a graduate or undergraduate student in media,
management, economics, or information technology.
- You should have an excellent academic record, a strong analytical mindset
and outstanding communication skills.
- You should be innovative and have entrepreneurial ideas and behaviors.
- You have a keen drive to make a difference and the courage to execute
them.
- You should have work and/or extracurricular experiences that reflect your
passion for the media and service industry.
Your application materials should include:
- Resume highlighting your leadership abilities`
- Cover letter detailing your interest in the Media and Services industry.
- Indicate where you learned about this Talent Meets Bertelsmann program
- A thesis to address the following business need:
"With the development of internet, e-commerce has created a new economic
ecosystem. As a global leader in media and services, Bertelsmann is looking
for the integration of e-commerce into its business sectors to develop
future potential. You may refer to www.bertelsmann.com and respective
divisional websites for more information on Bertelsmann's current
businesses. Think outside the box to come up with new business models that
address one or more of the following sectors, while keeping the integration
of e-commerce at the focal point.”
- Sectors: BPO (Business Process Outsourcing), TMT (Technology, Media,
Telecom), and Education
- Your thesis should be in English, with a clear structure following that of
a business proposal, and be no less than 1,000 words.

final selection of 20 candidates will attend the Talent Meets Bertelsmann
